Tom & Kelly first met at school, in fact, they met at the same school where Tom now works as a teacher.
Their beautiful Lincolnshire wedding took place at Kenwick Park Hotel in Louth. This was the first time we had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Kenwick Park and we hope it will not be our last. We arrived as we normally do, at the start of bridal preparations. The atmosphere had that sparkle that, luckily, we as wedding photographers get to experience at every wedding. It is so special being invited into the inner sanctum of a wedding day, capturing the bride and her best of friends at their most intimate point of the day.
Kelly and her bridesmaids tried to get sneak peeks of the groom from the window of the wedding suite. It was almost as if they had gone back to their school days, sneaking a peek of the boy Kelly fancies. Tom arrived, relatively relaxed and unaware the girls were spying on him. After he tried, unsuccessfully, to get information from us about how Kelly was doing, we got to capture Tom and his best men relaxing and telling stories before getting ready for the ceremony.
The weather could not have been any better for getting married outside. As Kelly’s father walked her down the aisle, the beautiful blue sky showered the guests with sunshine (a few may have wished they had applied more sunscreen) and a beautiful ceremony followed. A Pimms reception was given outside the wonderful Kenwick Park Hotel as everyone made the most of the gorgeous Lincolnshire weather. Dinner was followed by some very touching speeches from all that brought some tears and plenty of cheers.
We then got to steal the bride and groom away for a short photo session as the sun began to come down. Both Tom & Kelly were not keen on the formal style portraits, so instead of posing them like a more traditional wedding photographer, we simply let them enjoy each other’s company and with some subtle direction we captured some beautiful moments of the newlyweds.
After the cutting of the cake (with the beautiful model of Kelly, Tom, and their dog, that had travelled all the way down from Scotland) it was time for dancing. The evening started with the band welcoming Tom & Kelly to the dance floor for their first dance before firing into party mode. Everyone crowded onto the dance floor and began to party late into the night. We left everybody singing along on the dance floor, said a quiet goodbye to the married couple and left everyone to enjoy their night.
We loved photographing Tom & Kelly’s wedding. A couple of childhood sweethearts, whose wedding day was a mix of beautiful weather and a beautiful venue in Kenwick Park Hotel, Louth.
